The Reliance Big Pictures maiden attempt in Kannada ‘Ijjodu’ directed by Sathyu starring Meera Jasmine, Anirudh and Nagkiran will be released in the form of ‘Platform Release’ on 30th of this month says Mahesh Ramanathan CEO of Reliance Big Pictures addressing the media on Tuesday afternoon in Bangalore at Capitol Hotel.

Reliance Big Pictures is committed towards the regional cinema and it has spread its wings in nine regional languages capturing the best in the market stated Ramanathan. “Shaji Karun, Buddadev Das Gupta, Shyam Benagal, Ritupurna Gosh, Amol Palekar are already in our banner and in the coming days we have plans to work with top Kannada director Girish Kasaravalli. We are in to art and commercial films in the field of entertainment giving prominence to story and audience”, says the ambitious Ramanathan.

“Working with off beat film director like MS Sathyu is much more than the recognition we get from the commercial venture”, Ramanathan believes.

Pointing his attention to ace director MS Sathyu, Ramanathan said it is a privilege to work with him no matter however controversial he is in his films.

Pankaj of Reliance group heads the distribution system of ‘Ijjodu’ and Amit Khanna is looking after the script division to finalize the talent for making the film. The DTH is another way besides the mouth publicity for the film, added Ramanathan in his address.

Mahesh Ramanthan released the audio album of ‘Ijjodu’ with MS Sathyu, music director Manikanth Khadri, lyricist Sudhir Attavar, playback singer MD Pallavi, actors Anirudh, Nagkiran, two times national award winner Dattanna on stage.
